Kerala Piravi marks the birth of the state of Kerala, which came into existence on November 1, 1956. To celebrate this occasion, Department of Biosciences in association with Department of Computer Science and Department of English, organized a programme aimed at honoring the cultural heritage and traditions of Kerala. The event was planned to encourage appreciation of Kerala’s rich history, language, and art forms, and to foster a sense of pride and unity among the college community.

The event was held at the Seminar Hall and began with a prayer song, followed by the welcome address by Shijo Pathadan, Head of English Department, who highlighted the significance of Kerala Piravi and provided an overview of the day’s events. Presidential address was delivered by the Chairman of College Managing Committee, Adv. M Ahammed Kunju. Felicitation was delivered by the principal, Dr Murugan R who also sang a song marking the beginning of cultural events. An engaging quiz competition was organized for the staff to test their knowledge about Kerala’s history, geography, and cultural tradition, followed by the fashion show with different rounds, finally selecting Ms.Unnimaya M and Mr.Aji Daniyal as ‘Malayali Manga’ and ‘Kerala Sreeman’ of 2024.Inorder to make the event more engaging, various games like ball stomping, balloon blast and candy blast were also included. All winners were given prizes. Spot dance was another highlight of the event where teachers gave their best without any hesitation. A group dance was also performed by teachers. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice principal, Mr. Lagheesh V M.
