MES M.K Mackar Pillay College for Advanced Studies, Department of Physical
Education organizing an inter-class 5-a-side football tournament to promote sports interest
among students. Here’s a summary of the event. The tournament took place on 07-03-2024 at
MES M.K Mackar Pillay College for Advanced Studies, Edathala. It aimed to enhance the
enthusiasm for sports among the students. Ten teams from various departments participated
in the tournament, showcasing the widespread interest in sports across different academic
disciplines. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Haseeb V A, a Silver Medalist at the
National Games. His presence likely inspired the participants and added prestige to the event.
Dr. Murugan R, the Principal of the college, presided over the function, symbolizing the
institutional support for such initiatives. Dr. Jayadeep V K, the Physical Education instructor,
extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants, setting a positive tone for the
event. Various dignitaries, including College Management Committee vice-chairman Mr.
P.K.A. Jabbar, Joint Secretaries Mr. C.M. Ashraf and Mr. Mohammad Nisar, and Vice
Principal Mr. Lagish VM, conveyed their greetings, highlighting the collaborative effort
behind the event. Mr. Shijo Pathadan delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all
those who contributed to the success of the tournament, including organizers, participants,
and supporters. Overall, the tournament seemed to be a well-organized and inclusive event,
fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the students and faculties of MES
M.K Mackar Pillay College for Advanced Studies.
II BCom Tax students won the competition. I BBA students secured the second position.
Muhammad Althaf from II BCom Tax was selected as the best player of the tournament. Dr.
Jayadeep V K, the Physical Education Instructor, welcomed everyone. Dr. R. Murugan, the

Principal, presided over the closing ceremony. Adv. M. Ahammad Kunju, the Chairman of
the College Management Committee, distributed the trophy and medal to the winners. Adv.
M. M. Salim, the Secretary and Correspondent of the College Management Committee,
distributed the trophy and medal to the runner-up team. Mr. Lageesh V M, the Vice Principal,
delivered the vote of thanks to the gathering. Overall, it seems like a successful event with
recognition for the winners and appreciation for the participants and organizers.
