REPORT

The Department of Physical Education organized an “ANNUAL
ATHLETIC MEET 2024” held on 22nd of February 2024 at MES Training College,
Edathala, Aluva. Students from MES M. K. Mackar Pillay College for Advanced Studies,
Edathala, contributed to expand the event's participation. It aimed to promote physical fitness,
team spirit, and healthy competition among students. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, the secretary of
MES Training College, hoisted a flag to officially inaugurate the event. Program begins with
a solemn prayer, creating a reverent ambiance for the inauguration. The physical education
Department Head, Dr. Jayadeep V.K, welcomed everyone with open arms and created a
serene environment. Dr. Murugan R, Principal, delivered an insightful introductory speech
for the sports meet. M.A Abdullah, Treasurer of the College Managing Committee; C.M.
Asharaf, Joint Secretary of the College Managing Committee; Mr. V.M. Lagheesh, Vice
Principal and Mr. R. Rahul Thampi, IIC President, offered felicitations during the ceremony.
Over 100 students participated across various events, showcasing their talent and
sportsmanship. Both individual and team participation was encouraged, fostering camaraderie
and teamwork among students. Participants displayed exemplary sportsmanship, cheering for
opponents and congratulating winners.
Expressing gratitude, Ms. Pinky Thomas, extended heartfelt thanks to all participants and
supporters for their valuable contributions. Head of Departments and other faculty members
from various departments were present. The Sports Annual Meet concluded successfully,
fostering a culture of physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition among students. It
not only celebrated athletic achievements but also emphasized the values of sportsmanship
and camaraderie. We look forward to more such events in the future to continue promoting a
holistic approach to education.
