REPORT

Yoga is the ancient way to attain physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Primarily originating in India, the word ‘yoga’ is derived from Sanskrit, meaning to unite. This unity signifies the ultimate union of the body with consciousness and thus attaining definitive peace. Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, on December 11 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 to be marked as the International Day of Yoga.

National Service Scheme in association with Health & Yoga Club celebrated International Yoga Day to make awareness among the students regarding the benefits of practicing Yoga. Adopting this practice is believed to provide significant relief from physical ailments and mental tension which plagues our day to day life. The resource person for the program was Ms. Binu Dileep, Yoga Trainer of Kunjattukara. She explained the importance and major principles of Yoga. It included the practical Session also.

Dr. Murugan R, the principal, Mr. Lageesh VM, Vice Principal, Ms. Reshma P R, Yoga Cell Convenor and other teachers participated in this program.
