REPORT

On 11/08/2023 at 10.00 A.M, the Department of Commerce organized an orientation programme in the college mini auditorium. The purpose of this programme was to provide crucial information and guidance to the new batch of students in M.Com Finance and Taxation, B.Com Finance and Taxation and B.Com Computer Applications, ensuring their smooth transition into the academic journey.

The event begun with a Prayer, followed by a warm  welcome address from Ms. Shahana K. H, Head of the Department of Commerce. Dr. Murugan R, the principal, then delivered a presidential address, setting the tone for the programme. We were honored to have Dr. Suchitra A, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Commerce at Sree Sankara  Vidyapeetom College,  Valayanchiragara, as our esteemed Chief Guest. She delivered a keynote talk, enriching the audience with her insights.

The Vice principal, Mr. Lagheesh V. M, and IQAC Coordinator, Ms. Betsy Manuel, conveyed  their warm regards for the programme, which was then followed by the orientation session. Our esteemed resource person emphasized the importance of Commerce, Finance, and Taxation disciplines, highlighting  their role in various sectors of commerce, research, and industry. She also provided detailed information about competitive examinations for those aspiring to pursue a CMA, ICMA and ICWAI.

The participants left the orientation programme with a clearer understanding of what to expect from the programme and the available resources. To show our appreciation,  Our principal presented a momento to our Chief Guest. Ms.Afeefa Abbas, a  first-year student in B.com Computer Applications,  proposed a vote of thanks to conclude the programme. It is worth mentioning that all the faculty members of the Department of Commerce and students attended the programme. The coordination for this successful event was done by all faculty members from Department of Commerce.
