The Department of Biosciences organized an orientation programme for the new batch of

M.Sc Microbiology, M.Sc Biotechnology and B.Sc Bioinformatics students on 03/08/2023 at

10.00 A.M in the college mini auditorium. The programme aimed to provide essential

information and guidance to help the students transition smoothly into their academic

journey.

The programme commenced with a Prayer by first year students and was followed by a

welcome address by Ms. Krishna Raj, Head of the Department of Biosciences. Principal

Dr. Murugan R, delivered the presidential address followed by a keynote talk by the

Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Umesh B.T, Head of Department of Biosciences, MES College

Marampally. Vice principal Mr. Lagheesh.V.M, conveyed his warm regards for the

programme which was followed by the orientation session. Our resource person emphasized

the importance of the disciplines of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and

their role in various sectors of scientific research and industry. He provided detailed

information about competitive examinations for the PhD aspirants. The participants left the

orientation with a clearer understanding of the programme’s expectations and resources.

Our principal presented a momento as a token of appreciation to our chief guest. A vote of

thanks was proposed by Ms. Unnimaya M, Asst. Professor of the Department of Biosciences.

All the faculty members of the Department of Biosciences and students were present. The

programme was coordinated by Ms. Radha B Nair, Ms. Haznath Sajid and Ms. Grace Mary

Liniya.
