A microgreen production program was organized by the Department of Bioscience in association with the Nature Club on 10th March 2026 at 10:30 am. The program aimed to create awareness about the cultivation, nutritional benefits, and entrepreneurial potential of microgreens among students.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Sheethal Rajeev, Assistant Professor and Nature Club Convenor. She was assisted by Ms. Packylakshmi, Student Coordinator of M4 MSc Microbiology. The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Rajmohan Kadavil, Principal, by sowing
microgreen seeds. This act symbolized the importance of sustainable and healthy food practices. Ms. Krishna Raj, Head of the Department of Biosciences, and Ms. Rajeena C A, IIC President, also graced the occasion. They shared valuable insights on integrating innovative agricultural practices with scientific learning.
Students of MSc Microbiology and Biotechnology actively participated along with faculty members. The session included a demonstration on cultivation techniques and encouraged students to explore microgreens as a sustainable and income-generating activity.
